Creating Styles with Evidence Scribe Style Maker

1. Convert a brief you have created. Open the converted file.
2. As you make changes to the brief to make it you the way you like it, make sure that you edit the styles, not the document text. If you simply edit the document text, and not the styles behind the document, your changes will not take effect.
3. To changes the styles, click Format | Styles And Formatting. All the styles will will appear in a smaller sub-window. Right-click a style and select Modify to make your changes (these instructions apply to Microsoft Word and OpenOffice).
4. For each style you want to be able to convert to (such as ODT and DOCX), convert a brief to that format, modify the styles, and then save the document.
5. Now go to http://evidencescribe.com/es/converter.aspx, and upload the ODT and DOCX files you just saved (the CSS file is for advanced users). After entering the style name and other fields, click Download.
6. Your browser will prompt you to save the styles file with whatever name you gave it. Save the file.
7. In Evidence Scribe, go to Tools | Manage Styles. Click Install…. Choose the file you just downloaded, and click OK. (Users on Windows Vista and higher must copy the file manually into the Styles folder located next to the Evidence Scribe.exe program file. The styles folder is usually located at C:\Program Files\Idoneum\Evidence Scribe\Styles. You may receive a security warning before copying your new style.)
8. Now you can use your new style to make briefs look just the way you like them! The next time you go to convert a brief, your style will show up in the list.
